Travis Wharton

Travis Wharton is a Research Assistant at EdRedesign. A native of Greenville, SC, he graduated from Claflin University in 2007 with a B.A. in Music Education. He began his teaching career as a middle school band director in Berkeley County Schools. Travis journeyed back to the Upstate and received his master’s degree in School Administration and Supervision from Clemson University in 2012. Since then, Travis has served as principal at both Mitchell Road Christian Academy and NEXT High School. His love of his community and growing awareness of the economic, educational and political disparities

Charlotte Conway

Charlotte Conway is the Events Intern at EdRedesign, where she supports the planning and execution of large-scale convenings, including the Summer Institute and the Institute for Success Planning . She began her career in museum education, designing interdisciplinary learning experiences and public programs at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery. She continued her career to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, where worked with, designed, and delivered educational experiences for visitors across the Denver metro area. Chris Shelton

Chris Shelton recently earned her Doctor of Education Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. During her third-year residency, she worked with EdRedesign as a cross-sector leadership advisor and, after graduation in May 2025, Dr. Shelton joined the EdRedesign team as director of education strategy and cross-sector community impact. Shelton's career began as a defense attorney at Bryan Cave, LLP, before she discovered her true calling in education. Sarah Grucza

Sarah Grucza is the interim senior communications manager at EdRedesign, where she supports communications efforts ranging from digital media to public relations. Sarah previously served as a Presidential Management Fellow with the U.S. Department of Transportation. Before that, she was the assistant director of communications at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation, Harvard’s hub for research and teaching on democracy, antiracism, Indigenous governance, and Asia public policy. Benny Goldman

Benjamin (“Benny”) Goldman is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Cornell University and Research Principal at Harvard's Opportunity Insights. Goldman’s research is in labor and public economics, with a focus on race- and class-based economic disparities in the US. He studies the sources of these disparities and evaluates policies designed to alleviate them. He is a faculty member at the Brooks School and the Department of Economics. Jamie Gracie

Jamie Gracie is a postdoctoral fellow at EdRedesign. She most recently graduated with her Ph.D in economics from Harvard, where she studied labor and public economics. Her research is focused on intergenerational mobility and gender inequality in the labor market. She is a James M. and Cathleen D. Stone Scholar in Inequality and Wealth Concentration at the Harvard Kennedy School and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. She was previously a Linda G. Rob Watson

Rob is the inaugural Executive Director of EdRedesign and Lecturer on Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, having previously served as Deputy Director. At EdRedesign, Rob leads an interdisciplinary team of staff, fellows, consultants, research affiliates, and students supporting communities across the U.S. to develop cradle-to-career systems of opportunity. His work has focused on themes of civic engagement, community development, and educational equity in the U.S., Latin America, and Africa.
