Travis Wharton
Travis Wharton is a Wendy D. Puriefoy Cross-Sector Leadership Fellow at EdRedesign and a Doctor of Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. His love of education and music sparked his teaching career in his home state of South Carolina as a music teacher and band director. Subsequently, Travis served as principal at the elementary and high school levels. Most recently, he founded The Wharton Company, a consulting firm serving as a strategic thought partner for organizations focused at the intersection of education and economic mobility. This led to several collaborations with nonprofits, philanthropic organizations, local municipalities, and postsecondary institutions. Travis received his Bachelor’s degree in music education from Claflin University and a Master’s degree in school administration and supervision from Clemson University.
