Judy Touzin
Judy began her career as a third-grade teacher with the New York City Department of Education in 2003, where she quickly fell in love with her students, their families, and the work. In 2009, she went on to serve as the founding principal of an elementary school in East New York, Brooklyn. She then served as the Managing Director of Principal Preparation for a Texas-based charter network where she helped to prepare aspiring principals. In Judy’s experience as a teacher, principal, and leadership coach, she has consistently sought to help create affirming environments for young people to learn

In partnership with Harvard Business School, EdRedesign hosted a panel discussion on March 3, 2020 featuring John King, former U.S. Secretary of Education and current president and CEO of the Education Trust, and David Deming, principal investigator at CLIMB Initiative/Opportunity Insights. Paul Reville, founding director of EdRedesign, moderated the discussion. King and Deming discussed their organizations' research and work in the education field, and outlined a number of best practices for improving K-12 and higher education's ability to help low-income students succeed. The Great Divide Project at The Boston Globe

The Boston Globe organized this event to introduce people to a new team dedicated to investigating education inequality in Boston and the state. Guests had the chance to hear directly from youth featured in recent stories on the reasons they stumbled in college — and how our K-12 schools can help. They also met members of the Globe’s expanded education team and shared thoughts on what issues the Globe should be prioritizing in coverage. The panel included EdRedesign director Paul Reville.
By All Means Convening: The Power of Cross-Sector Collaboration in a Time of Uncertainty

Our second convening of the By All Means Consortium this academic year will examine the innovative ways that cross-sector collaboration can be leveraged to support children and families during the COVID-19 pandemic and similar crises with a focus on early childhood issues, in particular. Discussion topics will include the effects of trauma on children and youth, community responses using Children’s Cabinets, philanthropy’s role in addressing community needs, and supporting children in low-resourced environments, among others. Denisse Arias
Denisse Arias is the inaugural Director for Cradle-to-Career Leadership and Learning and oversees several signature talent development programs and initiatives, including EdRedesign’s inaugural Fellowship for Cradle-to-Career Partnership Leaders and the By All Means Senior Fellows Program. Denisse brings experience in equity-focused leadership development, cross-sector collaboration, education systems transformation, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning within education and international development. Our first Spotlight focuses on New York City's transformative multi-agency initiative, Every Child and Family is Known, to create personalized systems of support and opportunity for children and families living in shelters in the Bronx. In the spring of 2022, NYC became one of 12 communities selected to be part of the inaugural cohort of EdRedesign's Institute for Success Planning Community of Practice.
