Ryan Burton

Ryan Burton is a cross-sector leadership associate at EdRedesign and a doctor of education leadership candidate at Harvard University. Ryan decided to have a career in education after completing a year of service at an urban middle school through City Year Boston. During that year, he experienced the positive impact nonprofit and community organizations can have in addressing opportunity gaps that affect performance in the classroom. Most recently, Ryan was the Success Program director at Bottom Line, a college access and success organization supporting over 2,000 first-generation students

Witnessing change: Maryland’s ENOUGH Act signed into law

Earlier this month, Jennifer Blatz, president and CEO of StriveTogether, was honored to join Maryland Governor Wes Moore as he signed the ENOUGH Act into law. The ENOUGH Act will create the conditions for transformation across the state and is a major milestone toward StriveTogether's vision of putting 4 million more young people on the path to economic mobility.

Abigail Kinaro

Abigail Kinaro is a Summer Communications Assistant at the EdRedesign Lab. She is currently pursuing her master's in Data Science at Harvard University. Previously, Abigail studied Mathematics and Data Visualization at the University of Washington. During her time there, she served as a Research Assistant for Dr. Caleb Trujillo, PhD, focusing on High-Impact Practices and studying student retention. In this role, she developed strong skills in data management and analysis using R and Python.

Miguel Alonso Moya

Miguel holds a Master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University. He is a founder of a nonprofit organization, El Paso Leadership Network, which provides academic and professional development programs for students from his hometown of El Paso, Texas. After his internship with EdRedesign, Miguel will be an English Teaching Assistant in Bucaramanga, Colombia as a Fulbright Scholar.

Off to a Strong Start: The GRAD Partnership Year 1 Student Success System/On-Track Results 2022-23

During 2022–23, the GRAD Partnership began working with 49 schools across the country to implement evidence-based student success systems, which help schools meet the post-pandemic needs of all their students. This research brief examines results from the first cohort of the GRAD Partnership schools. Findings demonstrate that schools working with the GRAD Partnership to implement student success systems saw fewer course failures and reductions in chronic absenteeism. Sagar Desai

Sagar Desai (he/him) is a continuous learner who brings more than 15 years of experience in improving education and economic mobility outcomes, having worked with nonprofits, for-profits and NGOs in start-up, scaling and sustaining roles. He is currently an Executive Coach and Consultant for Nonprofit Leaders and Organizations helping clients move toward their hoped-for future and impact. In every engagement, he brings his experience creating more equitable systems, facilitating to make clear and collective decisions, and synthesizing information into a set of actionable recommendations. Over
