'Cradle-To-Career' Success and the 'Vaccine to Poverty'

The final Askwith Education Forum of the 2023–24 academic year at Harvard Graduate School of Education served as a powerful call for action and hope in academic reform around the United States. “Cradle-to-Career Pathways Supporting Social and Economic Mobility,” featured the leaders of organizations working to change educational systems to better provide pathways to equity, upward mobility, educational attainment, and civic engagement.

Most recently, Sonali developed and led Stockton Service Corps (SSC) as Executive Director of a 6-year, $12M first-of-its-kind place-based service initiative launched by Mayor Michael Tubbs to address Stockton’s most critical needs by activating evidence-based national service programs. Superintendent coalition aims to strengthen whole child supports

The Place-Based Education Leaders Design Fellowship, launched by the Harlem Children's Zone in partnership with EdRedesign and Chiefs for Change, recently held its first convening to learn more about strengthening neighborhood-based “cradle-to-career” services in under-resourced communities. Specifically, the group is focusing on lifting the barriers of intergenerational poverty and gaps in wraparound services. Representing a million students across 19 school districts, the inaugural cohort seeks to improve neighborhood-based “cradle-to-career” services.
