Developed by the Children’s Funding Project in partnership with The EdRedesign Lab, the Massachusetts Fiscal Mapping Tool is intended to help communities search for and build a customized fiscal map of existing and potential sources of federal and state funding to support local programs and services for children and youth in Massachusetts. The tool itself is a searchable, sortable, downloadable data set containing information on all of the state and federal funding streams for child and youth services/supports that are used in Massachusetts. The Geography of Rural Educational Opportunity

This is a research article by Jessica Drescher, Anne Podolsky, Sean F. Reardon, Gabrielle Torrance. They use nearly 430 million standardized test scores, including test scores from more than 6,500 rural school districts, to describe educational opportunity in rural America. Although they find modest differences in outcomes between rural and nonrural students overall, these disparities are larger for specific socioeconomic, racial-ethnic, and geographic groups. David Gonzalez is a research assistant at EdRedesign and a Junior at Harvard College double concentrating in Psychology and Economics.
