Building Impact: A Closer Look at Local Cross-Sector Collaborations for Education

In spite of all the attention to cross-sector collaboration, little research has been conducted to explore these new phenomena. To fill this knowledge gap, The Wallace Foundation commissioned a team of researchers at Teachers College, Columbia University, to carry out a three-pronged study. This is the third component of the study in which the authors conduct detailed comparative case studies of collective impact initiatives.

Lilit Tovmasyan is a communications assistant at EdRedesign and a master's student in the Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Prior to her graduate studies, Lilit led the communications team at the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies – a free after-school program where over 20,000 teenagers take charge of their own learning in tech and design.
