Early Lessons in Building Trauma-Sensitive Schools
Produced in collaboration with the Partnership for Resilience (the Partnership), this report highlights early lessons from the Partnership's efforts to create school-health-community partnerships to foster and build the resilience of children living in Illinois.
The report documents the Partnership's formation and use of a community organizing approach to engage school and health partners. Initial progress shows improved indicators related to long-term academic outcomes, efforts to address primary health challenges, and greater cohesion among administrators, unions, staff, and support services and growing job satisfication among teachers in participating school districts.
