Rebecca Westlake
Rebecca Westlake is a cross-sector leadership associate at the EdRedesign Lab and a second-year doctoral student in the Harvard Graduate School of Education Ed.L.D program. Rebecca brings 17 years of experience serving in the PreK-12 public school system. A former high school English and multilingual learner teacher, Rebecca founded an alternative high school in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to re-engage students who had dropped out or had been pushed out of the traditional high school. She later served as the District Director of Multilingual Learner Education in Salem, Massachusetts, where she implemented a teacher coaching program and launched a dual language program. Rebecca has taught abroad in Spain with a Fulbright grant, led the Multistate Association of Bilingual Education (MABE) as the Director of Professional Learning, and taught courses in bilingualism, biliteracy, and second language acquisition at Boston College. She holds a Bachelors in English from Bates College, a Masters in Teaching from American University, and a Master in School Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
