Farah Assiraj

Farah Assiraj is a Wendy D. Puriefoy Cross-Sector Leadership Fellow at EdRedesign and a Doctor of Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She was recently Chief of Teaching and Learning at the Council of the Great City Schools, leading professional learning and supporting academic, equity, and social-emotional leaders across 78 of the nation’s largest districts. In Boston Public Schools, she served as Deputy Chief Academic Officer, Assistant Superintendent for Multilingual and Multicultural Education, and Senior Director for Research and Instruction. Previously, Farah was Upper School Principal at Boston Renaissance Charter School, Director of Organizing for the Boston Teachers Union, and taught PK–12. As a leader committed to advancing communities’ collective impact, she founded cairEDucation Consulting and Peregrinum organization, and co-founded MARC Coalition and Boston BIPOC Parent Coalition. Farah holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Florida, a Master's degree from Simmons University, and is a Fulbright Distinguished Award recipient.
