Cody Huie
With over two decades of experience spanning the education sector, including roles in the classroom, central office, state education agency, and philanthropy, Cody brings a comprehensive and systemic perspective to educational leadership. Currently, Cody is pursuing a Doctor of Education Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. During the 2023-24 school year, he worked as a Superintendent Fellow in Milton Public Schools, focusing on special projects for the superintendent.
Before pursuing his doctorate degree at Harvard, Cody served as the Vice President of Programs at the Charles Butt Foundation in Austin, TX. In this capacity, he spearheaded the implementation of the Foundation's statewide program portfolio, which included the Raising Texas Teachers initiative—a 10-year, $50 million investment aimed at enhancing teacher preparation programs across 26 Texas universities and providing $8,000 annual scholarships to up to 500 aspiring teachers.
Cody's extensive background includes his tenure as a Senior Coordinator at Education Service Center Region 13. There, he led a team that provided technical assistance to campus leadership teams, aiming to improve outcomes at struggling schools and offering training and support for all statewide Title I school improvement grants in Texas. Cody's career began as a middle school special education teacher and district behavior specialist in the Texas public school system.
Cody holds a Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, underscoring his commitment to merging educational practice with public policy to drive systemic improvements in education.
