Amal Tariq
Amal Tariq is a second-year dual-degree candidate for an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MS from the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. After earning her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Caltech, Amal worked as a Hardware Engineer at Meta (formerly Facebook) where she led teams to deliver products for Meta’s datacenters around the world. Amal’s interest in education stems from her family’s journey as immigrants, where she witnessed education transform their economic opportunities. Seeing both the power of education in her own life and the cycles of poverty it can help break, she is passionate about building equity in access to quality education. She has consistently volunteered with education non-profits, be it as a robotics coach or through consulting services. More recently, she worked as a Strategy Summer Fellow at The City Fund, an education focused venture philanthropy organization in Washington, D.C. She is interested in the intersection of technology in driving meaningful change and serves on the leadership team for HBS’s Social Impact Club.
