Institute for Success Planning Virtual Learning Series Session 2: Supporting Success Through Authentic and Effective Family and Community Engagement
Grounding family engagement strategies in an evidence-based framework can help guide school and community leaders in identifying effective approaches for supporting success for all. During the second session in our Institute for Success Planning Virtual Learning Series, Harvard Graduate School of Education Professor Karen Mapp presents the Dual Capacity-Building Framework for Family-School Partnerships, which she and colleagues co-created. The framework can be applied to a wide array of settings, including schools, community-based organizations, and other agencies. She also shares learnings from the recently released “Everyone Wins: The Evidence for Family-School Partnerships and Implications for Practice,” an easy-to-use guide, in which she and a Harvard-based team use the latest research to help teachers, administrators, and Family and Community Engagement (FACE) coordinators design and implement programs wisely and with confidence that all students will benefit.
