"We Have a Story to Tell": Empowering Communities to Tell Their Stories of Impact
EdRedesign’s Institute for Success Planning is excited to announce Session II in our 2024-2025 Success Planning Virtual Learning Series. The session will feature Chris Shelton, EdRedesign Cross-Sector Leadership Advisor & Harvard Graduate School of Education Doctoral Candidate (Ed.L.D.), and the Institute for Success Planning’s Community of Practice teams from Chelsea, MA, Dayton, OH, and Orlando, FL.
The virtual session “I Have a Story to Tell”: Empowering Communities to Tell Their Stories of Impact will illustrate the power of storytelling by highlighting an initiative designed to equip and empower local communities to cultivate a robust culture of storytelling. Our goal is to help communities, partner organizations, families, and youth tell stories of progress, growth, and positive impact more frequently and effectively. We believe that more effective storytelling will lead to broader support as communities continue to build, implement, scale, and sustain their Success Planning initiatives.
Additionally, the efforts of three pilot communities participating in this initiative (Chelsea, Dayton, and Orlando) will inform our collective understanding of the role storytelling plays in the broader cross-sector place-based field. Valuable feedback from these communities will contribute to developing a Storytelling Toolkit and a process tailored to meet the specific needs of communities within EdRedesign’s Institute for Success Planning Community of Practice and the broader field. Come hear about the amazing contributions Chris Shelton has made leading this effort and the powerful storytelling journeys of our three pilot communities.
