LaJuan Allen serves as the By All Means Providence Community Lead. He was born in Brockton, Massachusetts and raised in Boston. Of Cape Verdean and African-American heritage, LaJuan became the first person in his family to graduate from college earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/Public Policy and Sociology from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. He currently lives in Providence and is the Deputy Director of Youth & Education for Mayor Jorge O. Elorza in the Capital City of Providence, Rhode Island. Within his portfolio, LaJuan provides creative and strategic leadership to support all aspects of the Mayor’s Youth and Education priorities in the City of Providence. Additionally, he oversees the City’s Urban Innovation Partnership and the city’s participation in Harvard’s By All Means initiative. His portfolio always includes serving as the team’s liaison with outreach specific to education, youth & cultural organizations and supports social justice efforts. He currently attends the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and plans to graduate in 2022 with a Master’s in Public Policy.
